Chef Randy says his Meyer Lemon Spice Cake with
candy lemon zest and Meyer Lemon Sherbet will leave you anything but sour. He takes eggs, vegetable oil, flour and other standard cake ingredients and combines that with lemon extract and Meyer Lemon zest. He bakes it up and tops with a candied lemon zest that gives the cake just enough of a sweet-sourness to really make it unique. One note, you don't have to use Meyer Lemon zest, standard zest will do. Serve with the sherbet and really make it sing!
