A Tropical Take On Ice Cream

So you're looking for some homemade ice cream to cool you down on a hot day...but flavor should you make.  Chocolate, vanilla?  Those are all good choices, but in this mid-summer's hot weather, why not try a more tropical flavoring...mango.  Cookbook author Carolyn Wente stopped by Tonia' Kitchen with the marvelous makings of mango ice cream.  She told Tonia to begin with three 3 ripe mangoes.  Peel them and
squeeze the juice into a bowl.  Then puree the flesh of the fruit with the juice, along with one tablespoon of lime juice. Then, talk one and half cups of milk to a boil on medium heat.  Then, wisk six egg yolks and 3/4 of a cup of sugar.  And the eggs and sugar, along with the pureed mangoes to the milk and stir until its cool. Add it all to an electric ice cream maker, and follow the appliance maker's instructions.
