An unusual (but very tasty) Thanksgiving dessert

Everyone likes pie for Thanksgiving, but if you're looking to shake things up a little for your holiday dessert table, look no further than the humble quince.  Author Sally Schneider told Tonia's Kitchen that the fruit, which looks like a yellow apple, can be very tasty, but does need to be cooked.  She recommends you peel it like an apple, then cut in into eight sections.  Add some white wine and honey, along with a split vanilla bean and simmer for about a half-hour.  Sally says it goes great with ice cream!
