A Different Kind of Cake

 



And by different, we mean savory...not sweet! A little bit like a sandwich, but just as tasty as the traditional pastry. Aleksandra Crapanzano, who wrote the new cookbook Gateau, stopped by Tonia's Kitchen to talk about how you can make a cake for lunch! There's no sugar here, but what there is, is grated gruyere cheese, leeks, savory seasonings and more! It may sound complicated, but Aleksandra told Tonia she keeps things simple with her recipes. It will really change the way you think about cake, especially when you're enjoying for your midday meal.
