Light Shines Bright Through These Cookies

And that's because they look like stained glass!  Fortunately, the "glass" is colorful crushed up candies poured into a special rollout dough,.  Susan Reid, who co-authored The New King Arthur Essential Cookie Cookbook, told Tonia's Kitchen about an easy-to-make dough consisting of butter, shortening and cream cheese, and a special ingredient, nutmeg.  Refrigerate the dough, cut out shapes and put different colors of crushed hard candy in the shapes.  Then bake it all together.  It'll almost be a shame to eat them, almost!
