Tarts...



With the holidays upon us, it's time to think about those special party treats that everyone looks forward to.  Nick Malgieri, who wrote the cookbook, Pastry, told Tonia's Kitchen about his special Meridian Citrus Tarts that people clamor for!  Nick told Tonia he starts with sweet pastry dough, brought together in a food processor.  He notes that if you chill the dough after it's brought together, make sure you knead it before you roll it.  As for the filling, use cold butter,egg yolks,lemon juice, lemon zest and brown sugar.  Mix them all together in a food processor and pour into a lined muffin pan. Then bake them all up. It makes for a sweet, yet tart holiday treat!
