They bill it as food, fashion and fun...and Alice in Wonderland's Tea Party. It's a New York City restaurant called Serendipity 3. Creative Chef Joe Calderone came by Tonia's Kitchen to talk about what makes this place an eating establishment like no other. Chef Joe told Tonia it starts with the restaurant's retro vibe, that's definitely not faux! Joe says the eatery dates back to the 1950s, and the stars of the day were customers. Folks you might have heard about, like Marilyn Monroe, Cary Grant, Grace Kelly and the like. But even as celebrities have changed, stars like Ryan Reynolds, Kim Kardashian and others are still dropping by. Why? Part of the reason is the very high fashion line of milkshakes they offer, called Couture Milkshakes. Among them is the Lavender Wild Blueberry. Joe says it contains Tahitian Vanilla Ice Cream and lavender flour, served in a sugar rimmed glass, with Madagascar Vanilla shavings and a simple syrup. Tonia calls it an edible work of art.
