You've Heard of Craft Beer

And if there were such a thing as craft wine this would certainly qualify for it. Today at Tonia's Kitchen we introduce you to Scout and Cellar Wines, clean crafted wines grown naturally and bottled contentiously.  Scout and Cellar's CEO Sarah Shadonix stopped by to talk about why her wines are so different, and herald one bottle in particular. This year, Sarah told Tonia, the winery is particularly proud of their Dove Hunt Dog 4th Vintage Sauvignon Blanc. She says they worked with a farmer in Mendocino County, California, which is in the far northern part of the state for the grapes. This farmed, Guiness McFadden is the embodiment of a "green" farm in as much as it's totally hydro powered. A feat Sarah calls no less than amazing! The farm itself is in a very cool climate ideal for the grapes that went into creating this delicious wine! So what goes with it? Sarah told Tonia that soft cheeses, crudité and seafood are great pairings here. But she also adds there are two rules about food and wine. The first, what grows together goes together. And by that, Sarah means mushrooms tomatoes and other ground vegetables make excellent pairing for grapes grown in a similar fashion. The second, simple really, avoid disaster. And with that Sarah means not to serve anything super spicy or super sweet with wine. After that, eat and drink what you like! Find out more about Scout and Cellar Wines here
