A Real Campfire Treat

It could be the perfect way to enjoy s'mores...in a dip. Much more convenient, easier to make, and best of all, less mess! And it's all with a campfire twist. Amy Traverso, with Yankee Magazine, stopped by Tonia's Kitchen to talk about their Campfire S'mores Dip. Amy told Tonia you can make it on a open campfire or fire pit. To make the marshmallows brown, you can (following proper fire safety protocol) light a small branch and run it across the top of the marshmallows, or even use your oven broiler at home. The "chips" in this dip are graham crackers that you can use to dip. It's easy, and it's delicious!

  • 1 tablespoon salted butter
  • 1 pound semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/8 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 8 ounces large marshmallows, halved crosswise
  • Graham crackers, broken into individual pieces

Instructions

Set a skillet over direct medium-high heat (400°). Melt butter, add the salt and chocolate, and stir. Top with marshmallows, cover with a lid or foil, and cook until marshmallows are melted, 7 to 10 minutes. Remove from grill and serve warm with graham crackers for dipping.
