There is a way to blend to perfection, especially when it comes to a fruit or veggie smoothie. Tess Masters, who authored the new cookbook The Perfect Blend, told Tonia's Kitchen that achieving the almost creamy texture of a perfect smoothie has a lot to do with the way you blend it. As for the ingredients, Tess told Tonia both fresh and frozen fruits are good, but when you use vegetables, Tess says its a good idea to rotate. Use spinach one day, kale the next, then chard, and so on. Sometimes you don't even need the actual vegetable. Tess says many protein powders now come with greens included. Convenient right?
