LISTEN TO THE PODCASTAnd it's healthy too! Ellie Kriger with the Food Network stopped by Tonia's Kitchen to talk about how to make both your pumpkin and pecan pies, healthier, while still tasting amazing. She told Tonia that's it's easy to make some healthy changes that no one will miss. Ellie says use one-percent
milk instead of cream to make the custard. She also says when making the pie crust, use the butter, just use less. Add in some buttermilk and that crust will still end up flaky and delicious! Use all the classic pumpkin pie spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger and cloves, and you'll have a pie that tastes great, and won't leave your Thanksgiving dinner guests so full!
Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at Tonia's Kitchen!
