Days of Wine and Apples

Let's talk for a second about that fancy dinner party you need a fancy appetizer for.  You want to try something unique, but you don't have a lot of time to put something together.  No problem says cookbook author Susan Simon.  She told Tonia's Kitchen about something she calls Apples and Wine.  Very easy to make says Susan, just take apples and pears and core them, but leave the skin on.  Then put a sugar cube where the core used to be, place the apples in a baking pan with red wine and bake for two hours in a 350-degree oven.  When the apples are ready, they'll have collapsed and become charred.  Just serve them up with a wedge of cheese.  You and your guests will love them!
